Computer Systems Essentials

This module provides students with essential knowledge of various computer system components and technologies such as operating system concepts, data storage and retrieval, networking, multimedia, Internet, e-commerce and security that are considered critical in today's business environment.

Database Systems

The purpose of this unit is for students to understand the principles, theory, concerns and applications of database systems using Microsoft Access. Students would be able to acquire practical knowledge and develop a working database system upon completion of this unit.

Business Communication

This module enables the individual to improve his/ her skills in interpersonal communication such as oral and written communication. It also enables the individual to review and understand their own behaviour and performance, with a view to improve their future learning ability. It provides a good foundation for the individual to acknowledge his own strength and weakness in communication.

Programming with Java

This module seeks to equip students with the knowledge of Java programming to produce applications using advanced features of the language.

Internet and Multimedia

This module covers the essential knowledge about the Internet and multimedia technology. Students would be able to develop web-pages containing text, graphics, hyperlinks, tables and forms as well as simple multimedia applications such as creating simple animation.

Introduction to IT

The purpose of this unit is to develop and understanding of the basics of computing and IT systems. It will also develop the competency of the students in the use of the Microsoft Windows operating system and some common business software packages such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
