The School of Psychology Advisory and Planning Board (SPAPB) is charged with developing the School of Psychology as a flagship school of TMC with programs that can articulate into degree courses in international universities. Their responsibilities include strategic alignment with TMC, academic planning for curriculum, academic staffing, developing co-operative relationship with international universities, and monitoring and mentoring functions. The SPAPB is a newly developed Board whose inaugural meeting was held in December 2009.

| Professor Grahame Coleman was appointed as an External Member and the Chair of the TMC Academic Board on 1 January 2011. He is also the Chair of the TMC School of Psychology Advisory and Planning Board. He was the Head of the School of Psychology, Psychiatry & Psychological Medicine at Monash University from 2005 to 2008. He is currently serving on the Academic Board at Monash University and the Faculty Board for the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. He currently also has an adjunct professorial appointment at The Ohio State University. He had previously served as Associate Dean (Research) at Monash University and had also served as Head of Psychology, and Head of Heath Sciences (Bendigo) at La Trobe University. He has published one book, numerous book chapters, over 120 refereed scientific journal papers and has authored over 100 conference papers. | ||

| Emeritus Professor Ng has served on the Academic Boards of La Trobe University and Monash University, both in Melbourne, Australia. He was the Chair of several committees within La Trobe University including the Academic Progress Committee and the School Research Committee within the School of Behavioral Sciences. He was also the Chairperson of the School of Psychology at Monash University for six years. He has published over 200 books, journals and conference reports. In 2009, Emeritus Professor Ng was appointed to the TMC School of Psychology Advisory and Planning Board as its Deputy Chair and in 2010, he was appointed as the Alternate Chair of the TMC Academic Board. | ||

| Dr. Burney is a fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, Senior Lecturer, School of Psychology and Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University as well as the Head of the Monash Cabrini Psycho-oncology Research Unit at the Cabrini Research Institute, Cabrini Hospital. She is also a registered psychologist who works with cancer patients and conducts research in this area. Dr Burney was instrumental in implementing many off-shore and off-campus psychology courses for the School of Psychology and Psychiatry during her five years as Director, External Programs. She has been involved in the teaching and management of the Monash psychology course at TMC since its introduction in 1998 and became a member of the TMC School of Psychology Advisory and Planning Board in 2009. | ||

Dr Jory is the Director of Undergraduate Psychology (previously Undergraduate Studies) in the School of Psychology and Psychiatry at Monash University. He has served on the Curriculum Development Committee and Undergraduate Studies Committee since 1996. He was Deputy Head of the Department of Psychology in 2005 and has served on the Academic Progress Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences for many years. He is Chairperson of the Board of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Psychology and Psychiatry at Monash University. Dr Jory has extensive experience in examination setting and assessment serving as the Victorian Certificate of Education Psychology Chief Examiner and Chief Assessor for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority between 1995-2002. He has published a number of research papers and books and regularly presents at conferences to psychology teachers. In 2009, Dr Jory became a member of the TMC School of Psychology Advisory and Planning Board.

Dr Hyman is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychology and Psychiatry at Monash University. He is also the Chair of the Undergraduate Programs Committee and a Member of the Board of Undergraduate Studies. He has been teaching Psychology for over twenty years and specialises in Psychological Assessment and Testing, Organisational Psychology, Health psychology and Sports Psychology. His present responsibilities include being the third year Co-coordinator and Unit coordinator for a number of undergraduate units for the Psychology major at Monash University. He is also a registered Psychologist in Australia and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. He was appointed as a Member of the TMC School of Psychology Advisory and Planning Board in 2010.

DR CHIN KON YUEN (Honorary), one of the founders of TMC Education Corporation Ltd, has played a pivotal role in planning and charting the development of the Group since its inception in 1981. Presently serving as the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, he is instrumental in putting forth and implementing the Group’s policies on business growth and engaging in high level collaboration with potential business partners on matters of business development, franchising and overseas expansion. Dr Chin completed his tertiary education in Marketing from the Institute of Marketing, UK, and attained his tertiary qualification in Management Studies which was jointly awarded by the University of Chicago, US, and Singapore National Productivity Board. In 1994, he was conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Technology by Staffordshire University, UK, for his contribution in creating education opportunities for young people in Singapore to gain professional computing qualifications from Diploma level to Master Degree. Dr Chin is also the President of Singapore Education International (SEI), an association formed by private education providers, with the support of IE Singapore, to promote the Singapore education brand overseas.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR GORDON WALKER | |

Dean and Head of School Dr. Walker completed a BA, BEd, and MEd at the University of Melbourne, and a PhD at La Trobe University. He is registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and is approved to practice in the areas of educational and developmental psychology and counselling psychology. He was formerly a member of the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria and, in 2009, he was appointed a member of the Hearing Panel (hearing complaints made against members of the registered professions) of the Registration Boards established under the Health Professions Act of Victoria 2005. Dr. Walker has served on a number of psychology and educational psychology course committees at various universities in Melbourne, including the University of Melbourne, RMIT University, Deakin University, and Monash University. He also served for nine years on the Monash University Standing Committee on Ethics in Research involving Humans (SCERH) (1998 – 2007). His working life falls into two main phases. The first involved working as an educational and developmental psychologist in school systems, and the second working in tertiary education. As an educational and developmental psychologist, he worked at all levels of the school sector in metropolitan Melbourne, apart from an appointment for two years as an educational psychologist in the city of Leicester, UK and three years focusing on improvement in teaching and learning in a curriculum development project in Papua New Guinea. His tertiary experience has been at Rusden State College, Melbourne College of Advanced Education and Monash University. His research area is the psychology of men and masculinity, and most recently, he has focused on predictors of men’s helping behaviour. Having completed his PhD using qualitative methodology, he has pursued together with students further research using qualitative methodology. His supervision of student research has until very recently all been at honours research project level. All projects are designed together with the student and are not part of any established research program. He has supervised approximately 60 such research projects to completion. Dr. Walker currently holds the position of the Head of School of Psychology at the TMC Academy and is actively involved in teaching modules for the BSc(Hons) final year programme, as well as undergraduate research project supervision. |

MS JENNIFER CARPIO | |

Senior Lecturer Ms. Carpio has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Cum Laude Honors from Mindanao State University, Iligan Institute of Technology, and a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. Prior to joining the TMC Academy in 2009, she worked as a Guidance Counsellor, as a Head Psychometrician and as a Human Resource Assistant handling Training, Policy Development and Employee Relations. Her research interests include counselling, burnout, stress, and current social issues. Ms. Carpio currently holds the position of a Senior Lecturer at the TMC School of Psychology and is actively involved in teaching modules for both the Higher Diploma in Psychology with Counselling and the BSc(Hons) final year program, as well as supervision of undergraduate research projects. Among her other duties, Ms. Carpio co-ordinates the Higher Diploma in Psychology with Counselling program and provides counselling to students of the TMC Academy. |

MS YEOW CHENG KHIM | |

Ms Yeow Cheng Khim, the Executive Director cum Director of the Academic Division, Registrar and Interim Academic Director, has served the Company since 1984. Ms Yeow’s present roles include being overall in-charge of the daily operations of the Group in particular those of the Academic Division. She is instrumental in negotiating with international educators and university partners at the highest level on academic matters, and successfully brought in many bachelor and master degree programmes from various renowned Australian as well as UK universities. In addition, Ms Yeow is actively involved in regular validation audits conducted by university partners and professional bodies as well as quality certification bodies. One of her significant contributions to TMC’s quality journey was her role in strategizing a systematic approach towards attaining the prestigious EduTrust Certification and, organizing and guiding the staff in preparing the final documentation for submission to the Council for Private Education (CPE). Ms Yeow has accumulated more than 25 years of experience in managing various schools under TMC Academy. She has taught as Course Director and Senior Lecturer, and has good knowledge of the education systems in Singapore, Australia and UK. Prior to joining TMC, Ms Yeow was an Accountant cum Administration Manager with a UK MNC, and a Management Accountant with a public listed manufacturing company. Ms Yeow received her Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Singapore and holds a Master of Science Degree (Business Systems Analysis and Design) from City University, UK. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, UK, and a Fellow of CPA Australia. |
