Multimedia Games Design & Development
This module will provide students with a thorough grounding in the more advanced areas of games design and development. Students will look at programming 3D games, exploiting the power of 3D graphics cards through their APIs and SDKs, multiplayer gaming and developing for a range of platforms (e.g. PC, console, mobile).
Professional Practice
This module will prepare students in their work as professionals in the computing industry. In addition to their technical skills as professionals they need to understand the context in which their work will take place. This course will ensure that students have an appreciation of legal, social, ethical and professional aspects of their working life.
Enterprise Database Systems
This module will focus on the latest principles of design and implementation of information systems that will allow users to access of data different types from multiple locations, find data from data archives or distribute information on the Internet. The skills obtained will equip students with the ability to meet the need for complex information systems.
Web Application Technologies
This module enables students to build effective web sites by providing understanding in a wide range of established and emerging technologies. Students will gain confidence through practical implementation of complex, 3rd generation, media rich web applications using a combination of open source and commercial technologies. This module provides a wealth of hands-n demonstrations and examples.
Project
A substantial individual project on a topic chosen by the student.
