Programme
Structure
The BSc (Hons) Internet Computing Systems from the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences,
which has a strong reputation for research, and has
a long-standing history of working with local, regional
and national industries, is a 120 credit programme
designed to be available to students from TMC who
have achieved a pass in the Higher Diploma
in Information Technology or have an
equivalent Polytechnic Diploma.
This will be delivered through a summer semester.
Attendance is to be full time at Liverpool John Moores
University for a period of 14 weeks, including assessments.
Prior to this students will attend lectures and workshops
(14 weeks) at TMC Singapore on a full or part-time
basis.
Students are required to complete
9 modules. Block 1 (February– May) at
TMC Singapore, students complete 4 modules (60 credits):
• Building upon existing skills
and knowledge.
• Developing expertise in a variety of different
methods and models.
• Drawing upon the expertise of staff at LJMU
in areas such as network security.
• Developing critical awareness of key issues
facing the IT industry.
• Developing a reflective approach to your personal
and professional development.
Assessment
Our assessment is planned to encourage you to develop
useful skills as well as to measure achievement; in
a way it is part of the teaching – you acquire
skills from the methods of assessment. There are varied
coursework assessments such as examinations and/or
coursework or project.
Graduating with an honours degree from LJMU will improve
your career prospects and create opportunities in
a range of sectors of the IT industry. An honours
degree also enables progression to postgraduate study.
Students who have completed the BSc (Hons) Internet
Computing Systems degree have an opportunity to join
LJMU’s Masters programmes at a discounted fee,
with a choice of a range of different Masters including:
