In certain circumstances the University will not approve Direct Final Year Entry to a qualification, but will allow this once the student has completed a short Bridging Programme.

The Bridging Programme provides students with the missing knowledge to successfully manage the final year of the degree.

These programmes typically are of 10 weeks duration delivered on a part-time basis, and usually have 3 modules.

BA (Hons) Mass Communications – Bridging

The Bridging for the Mass Communications takes 12 weeks and consists of the following 4 modules:

• Film Studies
• Internet Studies
• Media Representation
• Pop Culture and Entertainment

BA (Hons) Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality – Bridging

The Bridging for the Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality takes 10 weeks and consists of the following 3 modules:

• Issues in Hospitality & Tourism Industry
• Tourism Planning and Development
• Hotel & Resort Management

BSc (Hons) Internet Computing Systems – Bridging

The Bridging for the Internet Computing Systems takes 10 weeks and consists of the following 3 modules:

• Systems Analysis & Design
• Database Systems & Applications
• Advanced Programming with JAVA

The University of Greenwich will accept Polytechnic Business Diploma holders (and other similar qualifications) after they have completed a short 10 week Bridging Programme consisting of:

• Cost & Management Accounting
• Advanced Financial Accounting
• Financial System
• Investment & Planning Techniques

BA (Hons) Business Administration - Bridging

Currently there is no set bridging programme. Students will be considered on a case by case basis and advised on which units they need to take to meet the Direct Entry Requirements.

BSc (Hons) in Computing - Bridging

The University of Greenwich will accept the following Polytechnic Diploma holders (and other similar qualifications) after they have completed a short 10 week Bridging Programme consisting of:

• Systems Analysis & Design
• Database Systems & Applications
• Advanced Programming with JAVA

This applies to the following Polytechnic Diploma holders:

• Ngee Ann Diploma in Multimedia and Animation
• Singapore Diploma in IT (Mobile Applications)
• Singapore Diploma in IT (Games Development)
• Singapore Diploma in Digital Media
• Singapore Diploma in ICT
• Temasek Diploma in Computer Engineering
• Temasek Diploma in Games & Entertainment Technology

Other similar qualifications can also apply.

Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology - Bridging

Southern New Hampshire University has indicated that students with Polytechnic Diplomas from related disciplines, such as Engineering can apply for entry as long as they have sufficient IT modules. In most cases this will mean that such students will have to take a 10 week Bridging Programme consisting of:

• Database Systems & Applications
• Advanced Programming with JAVA
